About Renishaw Inc.

Industrial Metrology profile – stand 135509

Precision engineering and manufacturing technologies company Renishaw Inc is showcasing its diverse technology portfolio and extensive manufacturing experience at IMTS 2018.

Renishaw metrology products help manufacturers identify and control sources of process variation, which can cause waste and inefficiency, lead to higher quality costs, and result in late deliveries and poor traceability. Renishaw’s high-productivity manufacturing cell, featuring integrated process control solutions, will demonstrate how high levels of automation and connectivity can be incorporated into CNC machining operations to improve productivity levels and process capability.

The latest Renishaw technologies applied to the automotive and aerospace manufacturing industries include the REVO 5-axis CMM probing system with multi-sensor capabilities. Now featuring rapid data acquisition of dimensional and surface finish characteristics on a single platform, REVO allows manufacturers to significantly reduce measuring time and provides actionable data more quickly.

On CNC machines, the latest SPRINT probing system with SupaScan offers the world’s fastest workpiece setup cycles. The system can also monitor surface condition (waviness), which is a critical-to-quality requirement for product efficiency.

Renishaw’s Equator 500 gauging system now accommodates larger parts, for increased flexibility and range of applications. The introduction of IPC (intelligent process control) software also allows manufacturers to automate process control and tool offset correction directly to CNC machines from any Equator gauge.

Manufacturers are increasingly recognising that flexibility to re-purpose equipment to accommodate shorter life cycles and increased design variants is a significant benefit. IMTS 2018 visitors will see the latest developments in Renishaw software, which deliver ease of use as metrology moves closer to the point of manufacture on the shop floor. These include MODUS 2 software for CMMs and Equator gauging systems, mobile apps for on-machine probing and CNC controller-based apps for probing and reporting.

Additive Manufacturing profile – stand 431607

Precision engineering and manufacturing technologies company Renishaw Inc is showcasing its diverse technology portfolio and extensive manufacturing experience at IMTS 2018.

Visitors to Renishaw’s stand in the 3D printing and additive manufacturing (AM) zone will be introduced to the company’s latest AM systems and software. The RenAM 500Q quad-laser system for high productivity features four high-power 500 W lasers, each able to access the whole powder bed surface simultaneously. This product can speed up the AM process by up to four times in the most commonly used machine platform size, broadening the market appeal of metal AM and bringing the technology to a wider range of industries. For companies whose established working methods require the ability to handle batch-to-batch powder management, Renishaw is also launching an external powder silo option with batch control for RenAM 500 systems.

Also on display at IMTS will be Renishaw’s suite of additive manufacturing software, which includes QuantAM build preparation software, InfiniAM Central remote process monitoring and InfiniAM Spectral for live feedback on energy input and emissions from the AM build process.

Renishaw’s complementary range of industrial metrology solutions ensure that the AM parts that are produced can be qualified and controlled using downstream finishing processes, such as CNC machining.
