Event Information

Title: How to be Successful in Your Laser Welding Applications

Description:

In this session, we will look at wavelength, beam quality, spot size and unique beam shaping options to see where they excel. Additionally, a high-level overview of common processing optics will be discussed. We will look at the welding process directly reviewing different types of welds such as keyholes, conduction, hybrid, and the benefits of each. Give an overview of the more common joint types and their advantages to help you to determine which one best fits your application and material. Finally, we will go more in-depth case evaluations showing keys to success from solving common problems such as cracking, porosity, spatter, gap, reflective materials, and other common issues. Some of the tools we will review are power, speed, spot size & beam shaping, vision systems for weld locations and process monitoring for real time weld feedback.

Type: IMTS Conference
