Description:

Skiving is 5-10 times more efficient than conventional shaping process for manufacturing internal gears. Driven by the demand of electrical vehicles, skiving has gain increasing popularity in recent years. The bottle neck for enabling this efficient manufacturing process is the production of high accurate skiving cutters.

The proposed topic is to cover an overview of the technical changes facing today for producing DIN AA skiving cutters. Such as to maintain the accuracy the need of improved thermal stability of the tool grinding machine.

The skiving cutters has different geometric property on the cutter profile, the industry benchmark gear measurement machines still lacking the capacity to measure the cutter profile precisely. To solve this problem, we developed in process measurement technology to evaluate the cutting edge profile in the grinding machine.
