Description:

This session is a replay and will not have any live Q&A.

If you are not measuring, you are guessing!

NC programming for milling requires more than just getting the geometry of the motion right. Geometry is an important part, but you also have to respect the real physical performance limitations of your equipment. Guess the cutting parameters wrong, and you have chatter, poor surface finish, broken tools, or worse – under used machines.

You can only know what your equipment can do when the machine, holder, and tool are put together, and there are literally billions of possible combinations of those elements. So how do you learn what your system can and cannot do?

This Spark session will describe the current  state of the art in measuring and using machine tool performance data so that the NC programs you write not only work, but fully utilize your equipment.
