Additive Manufacturing Conference - Reducing Limited Factors for Adopting AM Through Material Innovation
Despite the proven advantages of using additive manufacturing (AM) technology for production, companies still struggle to adopt AM at scale. To better understand why large-scale production remains difficult, Essentium commissioned an independent global study that surveyed manufacturing managers and executives to identify obstacles that hinder the wide-scale adoption of 3D printing. In the survey, 45% of respondents claimed the high cost of printing, including materials as a limiting factor, 43% stated that current AM capabilities can't meet their application requirements, 25% blamed unreliable materials, and 74% said an open ecosystem was very important. The results revealed that material innovations are critical to overcoming obstacles and delivering on AM’s promising range of benefits.
In this presentation, you will get insight into how to overcome the limiting factors for adopting AM, and why materials can lead to an end-to-end solution that sets you up for success.
