3D Printing Workshop for Job Shops - CNC Retrofit and Hybrid Manufacturing
Directed Energy Deposition (DED) generally affords higher material deposition rates, larger parts, and low part production costs compared to other additive manufacturing processes. A subset of DED involves laser-wire additive manufacturing. Meltio developed a novel patented multi-laser wire additive manufacturing technology which has been commercialized in over 100 systems installed worldwide in the past two years. A significant fraction of the current installed base includes the Meltio Engine which has been designed to power both robotic systems and CNC systems (hybrid manufacturing). This presentation addresses CNC integrations completed within the past year, hybrid manufacturing case studies, user experience and advantages of the architecture over other AM and traditional manufacturing processes.
