Description:
Every part needs finishing. From buffing and polishing to applying a final finish, whether you perform finishing operations in house or partner with an outside vendor, an understanding of finishing operations from cleaning and pretreatement to the final plated surface is an important aspect of any manufacturing job. The Plating Insights series on Spark offers you the insights you need for sourcing a plating partner and understanding the process and technologies, helping you to secure the perfect finish for your parts. Episode 3 of Plating Insights: Jeff Hannapel of the National Association for Surface Finishing (NASF) discusses the evolving regulatory challenges for per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), including the EPA’s evaluation of effluent guidelines and pretreatment standards for PFAS under the Clean Water Act. The session will discuss industry efforts to implement best management practices for addressing PFAS issues.
