Dr. Stephanie Benight is President and Principal Scientist at Tactile Materials Solutions where she assists clients in overall strategy, marketing, and technical analysis related to materials used in additive manufacturing, medical devices, and other applications. Dr. Benight was formerly Director of Materials at Origin where she forged an open material network of partners developing UV-enabled resins. As a chemist by training, she has deep expertise in materials characterization, and a demonstrated track record in business development and strategic partnerships. She has led and conducted root cause and failure analysis investigations of plastics, adhesives, and coatings (e.g. inks, paints) used in commercial products such as medical devices, building materials (e.g. flooring), consumer electronics, equipment components, and wind turbine blades, among others.  Dr. Benight also has performed research in the areas of polymer mesh, liquid crystals, photonics, electro-optic materials, organic electronics (e.g. sensors, transistors), semiconductors, next generation computing (e.g. optical computing), additive manufacturing (3D printing), and photopolymers. She is currently the Director of 3D Printing at Myerson, Chair of the Silicon Valley Section of the American Chemical Society (ACS), and is a contributing member of the ASTM F42 Additive Manufacturing Technologies and F04 Medical and Surgical Materials and Devices standards committees.
