
Christopher Saldana
Dr. Christopher Saldana is an associate professor in the George W. Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering at Georgia Tech. His research is focused on developing material/microstructure qualification and process design tools for hybrid additive/subtractive manufacturing methods. His research has been supported both by industry and government agencies (e.g., DOE, DMDII, NIST, ARO, NSF, DARPA, ARL, etc.). He earned his graduate and undergraduate degrees from Purdue and Virginia Tech, respectively. He has been recognized with several awards, including the NSF CAREER award, the R&D100 Award, the US Air Force Summer Faculty Fellowship, the US Small Business Administration (SBA) Tibbetts Award, the
Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) Robert J. Hocken Outstanding Young Manufacturing Engineer Award and Research Affiliate of the International Academy for Production Engineering (CIRP). Dr. Saldana presently serves as an associate editor for IISE Transactions Design and Manufacturing and on the editorial boards of Manufacturing Letters, Computer Aided Design and Applications and ASTM Journal of Smart and Sustainable Manufacturing Systems.
