Richardson, Renee
Renée Richardson joined the Metallica family in 2019 after a 20-year radio career in San Francisco. Inspired by the Bay Area's culture of philanthropy, she signed on as the Director of Development for Blue Bear School of Music (the original school of Rock!), where she promoted the idea of music education for all. Today, Renée remains an active member of the Board of Trustees for Blue Bear School of Music and also serves on the Board of Project Glimmer, a national organization that supports foster girls. Currently, as the Director of Philanthropy for Metallica's foundation, All Within My Hands, Renée's day-to-day activities include managing grant-making and donor relations both locally and abroad. Trade education is a priority for Metallica, and Renée is passionate about seeing their vision come to life.
Renée is originally from Rockland County, New York, she moved to San Francisco in 1992 after falling in love with the city on a road trip. She currently resides in Pawleys Island, South Carolina, where she and her husband, Mike, take care of her aging father, John.
