Murphy, Melissa

Melissa Murphy is a new-generation CNC Machinist specializing in precision grinding operations and is passionate about advocating for greater participation of Gen Z and women in the skilled trades. She began her career operating centerless grinders alongside manual & CNC lathes and quickly found a passion for grinding, where tight tolerances, multi-machine operation, and high stakes keep her motivated.
 

Melissa’s passion for precision manufacturing extends outside the machines themselves. She is passionate about showing others, particularly young people and women,  that there is a place for them in the skilled trades. As a member of the next generation of manufacturing, she hopes to challenge outdated perceptions of what a machinist should look like and what a career in manufacturing can offer. 
 

Through her work and involvement in the manufacturing community, Melissa enjoys sharing her experiences, encouraging others to explore opportunities in the trades, and advocating for a stronger, more diverse workforce. She believes that the future of manufacturing depends on bringing new perspectives, talent, and enthusiasm into the industry.
