Burrola Cristina
Cristina leads Global Supply Chain for Cummins Drivetrain and Braking Systems, a Cummins division with 9,000 employees generating $5B in revenue. She oversees the operations of 25 manufacturing sites and three distribution centers across the globe, ensuring that delivery, quality and cost align with customer expectations and the organization’s long-term strategy. Cristina is also responsible for Global Procurement strategies—working with and developing suppliers—as well as all the functions supporting the supply chain organization’s goals, including Quality; Health, Safety and Environment; Planning and Logistics.
Prior to her current role, Cristina was Vice-President and President of the Cummins Latin America Area Business Organization (ABO), steering an organization of 10,000+ employees across all Cummins business segments in 16 countries of Latin America. As leader of this $4.2B business, comprising $2.2B in regional sales and $2B in exports, Cristina focused on developing and implementing strategies for business growth, defining regional market needs and investments to support the growth, driving customer loyalty, and powering the talent development process.
Cristina led the Supply Chain organization for the Cummins Latin America ABO, overseeing operations of eight manufacturing sites and two regional distribution centers, as well as Purchasing, Supply Chain Planning and Logistics, Quality, and HSE. She was part of the Cummins Corporate Strategy M&A group where she led the integration of four acquisitions to the $1.2B North America Distribution business. Cristina also led both the Engineering Services and Global Cost Reduction organizations for the Filtration Business, implementing over 400 projects worth $40M in savings and driving operational excellence to improve capabilities, productivity, utilization and capacity across the global Filtration product development laboratories.
From her start at Cummins in 2001 through 2009, Cristina was in the Fuel Systems Business at the Juarez, Mexico facility, where, as the plant manager of the Cummins Scania XPI Manufacturing plant, she spearheaded two important new product launches. Before joining Cummins, she was a Product and Design Engineer at General Electric.
Cristina is a strong believer in serving the communities in which she lives. Currently, she is President of the Cummins Mexico Foundation and works to define the strategies to support the biggest needs of the communities where Cummins is present in Mexico. While living in the US, she served on the YMCA Board of Directors from 2011 to 2018 for the YMCA Latino Achievers Program. During this time, she earned several awards for her work and dedication to the Latino community, including Volunteer of the Year (2012); Best Support (2014); and the Servant Leadership Award (2016).
Cristina was born in Ciudad Camargo, Chihuahua, Mexico, and is currently based in Dallas, Texas. She is fluent in Spanish and English. She earned a B.S. in Electrical and Industrial Engineering from Instituto Tecnologico de Chihuahua, an M.S. in Engineering from Tecnologico de Monterrey, and an MBA from Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University. She is certified as Six Sigma Green Belt and Sponsor and in Lean Manufacturing by the University of Michigan.
