Ledvon, Gisbert

Vice President of Marketing at HEIDENHAIN Corp.

Gisbert Ledvon is Vice President of Marketing for HEIDENHAIN Corporation in North America.

With over 25 years of extensive corporate industrial machine business and marketing experience, he is responsible for Strategic MarCom for the entire HEIDENHAIN product line and served market segments such as Automation, Semiconductor/Electronics and Machine Tool, as well as the TNC-End-user Applications team. For the last 7 years he grew the TNC – OEM and End-user business substantially and specifically in Aerospace and precision 5-axis machining applications.

HEIDENHAIN’s CNC control models are referred to as TNCs and are growing in market share in North America.  Ledvon is responsible for developing a strategy to drive technical value and commercial demand for the admired high-end TNC controls as well a machine monitoring at the end user and OEM levels.

 

Prior to joining HEIDENHAIN, Ledvon served as the Director of Business Development for many years, as well as Product and Applications Manager prior to that, both for a major Machine Tool Company providing EDM, Milling, Laser, Additive and Automation solutions. Gisbert supports AMT, AMBA, NTMA, TMA and its members. Since 1998, he served on several technical committees and the IMTS show committee.

 

Born in Germany and beginning his professional training as an apprentice via the Tool and Die Vocational College in Olsberg, Germany Ledvon has lived in the United States for 30 years now, where he completed a business program at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management in Evanston, IL, in 2009.

 

He is regularly contributing to technical articles in key trade magazines like Modern Machine Shop, Moldmaking Technology and others. He also contributed several chapters about “Electrical Discharge Machining Technology” (EDM) for the McGraw-Hill Manufacturing Engineering Handbook, published in 2004 and 2016.
